Digital Associate Editor - FBN


Food Business News is seeking a creative and dynamic digital associate editor.  This position will assist in the development of the magazine’s online and social media presence.  Responsibilities include researching and writing informative online content, sourcing graphics for the website, constructing compelling headlines and producing monthly newsletters.


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Establish, develop and maintain sources to provide relevant and interesting insights to the North American food and beverage industry

• Create impactful editorial content for the website, social media and newsletters

• Identify and report daily news stories, innovations and trends

• Source or create graphics, video and audio content for the website or newsletters

• Monitor digital benchmarks and offer strategic ideas to improve online activity

• Assist with content development of the website

• Attend trade shows and conferences to network with industry experts and build subject matter knowledge

Audience Database Specialist


The Audience Database Specialist supports the Audience Development / Circulation department and contributes to the growth and accuracy of the subscriber database.  This position will maintain subscription lists by updating demographic profiles, adding new subscribers and removing unqualified subscribers. Additional responsibilities include identifying target groups for renewal or new subscription campaigns, creating mailing list for each publication issue and assisting in departmental efforts with distribution, fulfillment, customer service and reporting.


Job Duties

• Acquire potential subscriber lists

• Classify potential subscribers for data entry, verify demographic information

• Maintain database for accurate and updated subscriber lists, update adds and drops

• Create mailing list for distribution of each publication issued

• Maintain accurate distribution records for verification by outside auditor

• Provide customer service to all publication subscribers




• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, statistics or equivalent is preferred

• 4-6 years of professional office experience preferred

• Competency in MS Office products including strong Excel spreadsheet skills

• Strong subscriber/member database management experience

• Strategically focused and results-driven self-starter

• Dynamic ability to compile, analyze and present data in a meaningful format

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Creative problem-solving skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, handle a diverse workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Target marketing experience preferred

• May need to occasionally lift boxes up to 30lbs.
