Promotions Media Designer

 

Sosland Publishing Company is looking for a Media Designer in our Promotions Department.  This role is responsible for designing print and digital marketing, sales and promotional materials through creative collaboration with publishers, sales, editorial and design staff.

 

The ideal candidate:

 

• Exhibit effective knowledge of web coding standards with extensive experience utilizing HTML, JavaScript and CSS

• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite products including InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator and Muse

• Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team oriented environment

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to accept constructive criticism

• Ability to maintain in-depth and current knowledge of emerging digital platforms and related media

• Design and produce media kits, trade show displays, signage, brochures, house ads, promotional email blast, newsletters, etc.

 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field

• 2-4 years previous design experience required

• Publishing experience preferred

Directories Assistant

 

Sosland Publishing Company is looking for a Directories Assistant in our Circulation Department.  This role is responsible for the collection and verification of content for the directories section of Sosland publications.  The Directories Assistant will coordinate the print-to-digital conversion process.  This position also acts as the primary backup for switchboard and will perform the receptionist duties for a minimum of 1.5 hours per day.

 

The ideal candidate:

 

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail

• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with exceptional levels of accuracy

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

• Ability to learn industry specific computer applications

 

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalency; Associate Degree preferred

• 2-4 years working in a professional environment with experience in customer service or receptionist duties

• 1-3 years experience in data collection, verification and entry

• Intermediate MS Excel skills required

• Publishing experience preferred
