• The weekly publication, The Southwestern Miller, a periodical designed to offer timely news and market information for executives in the grain, milling and baking industry was started in 1922.


  • The success of The Southwestern Miller would allow the future Sosland generations to grow the company and publications that were offered.


  • The Southwestern Miller changed its name to Milling & Baking News on the 50th anniversary of the publication, March, 1972.


  • The Sosland Publishing Purchasing Seminar was launched in 1978 as a forum to bring together purchasing executives and suppliers for an intensive look into the commodity market situation and outlook, as well as for networking opportunities.


  • Baking & Snack was launched in 1979 to cover the operations side of the wholesale baking industry as a supplement to Milling & Baking News and became a free-standing magazine in 1989.


  • World Grain was established in 1982 to cover the global grain, flour and feed industries.


  • Baking Buyer – now bake – began in 1987 and covers the retail baking industry.


  • MEAT+POULTRY was acquired in 1996 and was Sosland Publishing’s first non grain-based food magazine, covering the meat and poultry processing and further processing industries.  The magazine was established in 1955 and celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2015.


  • was the first website launched by Sosland Publishing in 2000.


  • Food Business News, a biweekly that publishes every other week with Milling & Baking News covers the food processing business in totality, was launched in March 2005.


  • instore Buyer (now instore) was started in 2005 as a spinoff of Baking Buyer to focus on the supermarket in-store bakery and deli segment.  In January 2019, instore will be rebranded as Supermarket Perimeter, a new publication focusing on the fresh perimeter departments of the retail food industry, including bakery, deli, produce, meat and poultry and seafood.


  • In 2018, Sosland Publishing started Pet Food Processing, covering in-depth coverage of food safety issues, processing and ingredient technologies and consumer trends in pet food production.
