The Human Resource Generalist will perform a variety of administrative and strategic duties related to the function of the Human Resources (HR) Department. The HR Generalist acts as a primary resource to employees and managers, providing information and support related to recruiting, onboarding, benefits, training, performance, leaves of absence and policy compliance. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Human Resources.
Job Responsibilities
Administer HR policies, procedures, programs and new initiatives
Provide HR support and information to enhance job satisfaction and promote a positive company culture
Collaborate with third party vendors/brokers to administer benefits, retirement programs, COBRA, wellness programs, etc.
Review policies and research HR topics to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulatory changes
Promote HR programs and initiatives (i.e. Corporate Challenge, Fun Committee, DEI Committee, etc.)
Assist in the talent acquisition and recruitment processes; collaborates with departmental managers to understand the required skills and competencies for open positions
Conduct pre-employment assessments, eligibility verifications and background screenings
Assist new hires with the orientation and onboarding process to ensure an enjoyable acclimation to the organization
Identify, organize and document various training sessions/programs/opportunities
Participate in the development of constructive and timely performance evaluations
Coach managers and employees through conflict resolution and performance improvement opportunities.
Conduct grievance investigations, employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and exit interviews when appropriate
Assist with annual open enrollment development, implementation and review; prepare deduction files for payroll specialist
Monthly review and audit of benefit invoices
Generate internal reminder emails, documents, announcements, etc.
Document and communicate payroll related employment data in a timely manner
Maintain physical and digital personnel files

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent work experience in a related role
Additional 2- 5 years of human resources experience preferred
Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
HRIS experience a plus
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
