Current Opportunities

The Human Resource Generalist will perform a variety of administrative and strategic duties related to the function of the Human Resources (HR) Department. The HR Generalist acts as a primary resource to employees and managers, providing information and support related to recruiting, onboarding, benefits, training, performance, leaves of absence and policy compliance. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Human Resources.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Administer HR policies, procedures, programs and new initiatives.

 

Provide HR support and information to enhance job satisfaction and promote a positive company culture.

 

Collaborate with third party vendors/brokers to administer benefits, retirement programs, COBRA, wellness programs, etc.

 

Review policies and research HR topics to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulatory changes.

 

Promote HR programs and initiatives (i.e. Corporate Challenge, Fun Committee, DEI Committee, etc.).

 

Assist in the talent acquisition and recruitment processes; collaborates with departmental managers to understand the required skills and competencies for open positions.

 

Conduct pre-employment assessments, eligibility verifications and background screenings.

 

Assist new hires with the orientation and onboarding process to ensure an enjoyable acclimation to the organization.

 

Identify, organize and document various training sessions/programs/opportunities.

 

Participate in the development of constructive and timely performance evaluations.

 

May attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.

 

Assist with annual open enrollment development, implementation and review; prepare deduction files for payroll specialist.

 

Monthly review and audit of benefit invoices.

 

Generate internal reminder emails, documents, announcements, etc.

 

Document and communicate payroll related employment data in a timely manner.

 

Maintain physical and digital personnel files.

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent work experience in a related role

 

Additional 1- 3 years of human resources experience preferred

 

Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel

 

HRIS experience a plus

 

PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred

 

The Systems Administrator ensures that hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related processes and procedures adhere to the values and requirements of Sosland Companies.  This role also provides Tier 2 support and technical assistance across Sosland Publishing Company and the related Sosland Foundation and Sosland Family business.

 

The Systems Administrator is given the opportunity to take ownership of projects and systems inside the company’s technology portfolio. They are expected to operate independently with little oversight on these projects while demonstrating discretion and judgement.

 

Perpetual training to maintain knowledge of all new and emerging software, hardware, and other specialized equipment is necessary to ensure the Systems Administrator can resolve a range of customer issues.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintains a high degree of knowledge of systems which include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Server 2016, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Endpoint and Organizational Security, VPN, and Firewalls.

  • Administers the company systems, workstations, printers, mobile devices, phone system, firewall, antivirus, and backup.

  • Administers network access including creating accounts, managing groups and permissions, and troubleshoot remote and local access issues.

  • Basic TCP/IP networking and common services/protocols, routing/switching concepts, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VOIP

  • Microsoft Windows client and server platforms and services including Server 2012/2016/2019, Windows 10, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  •  
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities for both systems and networking including log output understanding and interpreting/analyzing end user descriptions of problems

  • Microsoft Office 365 suite and Office 365 administrative tools

  • Microsoft Azure and components such as virtual servers, storage containers, and azure active directory.

Our digital editors drive the success of the magazine’s online and social media presence.  Responsibilities include researching and writing informative online content, sourcing graphics for the website, constructing compelling headlines, producing digital newsletters and promoting the magazine through social media channels.

The Directory Content Coordinator is a vital member of the Audience Development department and responsible for compiling, verifying and entering data for Sosland Publishing directories and buyer’s guides. Our published directories and buyer’s guides provide industry contact and resource data to the businesses in targeted industries. Additionally, this position also converts print magazines to online flip-books. The Directory Content Coordinator also acts as an occasional backup for the front desk receptionist.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Send email request and reminders for contact updates, compile data.
